What Else Is New?
Hey hey everybody! Does anyone even read these? I'm not for sure. But in case they or you do, you might notice I've been lagging behind on keeping this blog updated. Remember the days of Xanga? When you'd get home from school and run to the computer and blog about your day? No? I'm the only one? You're either too young to remember or too old to miss the Xanga trend in the early 2000's.
I figured I'd slide this in and give you all an update about what's been going on. I turned the big 3-0 this past August. Another trip around the sun. It feels good! I've prioritized my health and am doing better than I have been in years.
As always I've been writing songs, traveling, playing shows, and meeting wonderful folks and picking up stories along the way. 2020 was a difficult year for all of us. However, I am optimistic about 2021! I firmly believe that we are on the cusp of getting out of this pandemic and I have lots of goals and expectations for the coming year.
Some of the highlights since this blog was last updated back in 2019 include meeting two of my biggest songwriting influences Ray Wylie Hubbard and Hayes Carll. I got to sit in a zoom meeting with them and I'm still on cloud nine. They were just as wonderful as I imagined they would be and gave great advice. I also finished writing a new album titled The Wandering Boy, which is to begin production hopefully by summer's end. I've also lost over sixty pounds since mid 2020 (whoot whoot!) and plan on losing more. Big trips are being planned as well, including two to Nashville, TN as well as the panhandle of Texas, hopefully sooner than later.
Not much else to say for now. Just keep your nose clean, stay safe out there, don't worry about me, and I'll see you on the road.
